105.7 Radio Metro is a not for profit community radio broadcaster and is the Gold Coast’s only Youth Community Radio Station. Radio Metro provides the youth of the Gold Coast with the opportunity to become involved in the provision and delivery of Radio Broadcasting. Volunteer Receptionist Position

Monday 9am-1pm, Thursday 1-5pm, Friday 1-5pm

Duties include:

· Dealing with prize winners

· Basic admin and cleaning

· Using Outlook, Microsoft Word and internet explorer

· Answering the phone

Those who have previous writing experience can also write content for the Radio Metro website.

Graphic Designer Internship

Radio Metro currently have a vacancy for an Graphic Designer internship.

This voluntary 1 afternoon per week internship is only open to students who are currently enrolled in or have already completed a graphic design course and have prior experience using Photoshop or similar software.

You will need to bring in your own laptop and software, and will be expected to deign flyers and promotional material for Radio Metro events and graphics for our website.

Radio & News School- Introduction to Radio Metro

Are you passionate about radio broadcasting? Do you want to launch a career in radio or peruse broadcasting as a fun leisure time activity?

Radio Metro has trained many people in radio broadcasting and assisted them in obtaining both volunteer and paid positions within professional radio stations. If this sounds exciting then Radio School is for you!

Radio School has both theoretical and practical components which are delivered over a one day workshop where you will learn all about:-

smlstation·         Community Broadcasting

·         Writing a Radio Show

·         Studio Etiquette

·         Programming Polices

·         Industry Software and Equipment

You will also get the chance to use the on-air studio and record talk breaks. On completion of the workshop you will be eligible to obtain real studio experience!

This course now covers 'News'- so if you want to be a news reader at Radio Metro, you will learn how to research, write and present a bulletin, as well as touching upon the theory and practice of broadcast journalism.

Over the next month, you will come in for more equipment and voice training, and get hands-on experience recording your own show. Those with an ability to present will be given the opportunity to join the Radio Metro Team!
